Use high gear on a bike on fast flats and descents, with tailwinds, or for steady tempo when you can hold smooth cadence without strain.

Change a bike chain at 0.5%–0.75% wear or every 3,000–5,000 km; replace sprockets when a new chain skips or teeth look hooked.

Replace a bike clutch plate when slip, grab, or chatter persists after cable adjustment—often between 20,000–60,000 km based on use and care.

Replace a motorcycle air filter every 6,000–12,000 miles; for dirt bikes, inspect each ride and swap when dirty—the manual and dust level decide.
